Creamy Italian Sausage Penne
This creamy pasta dish will be sure to be a family favorite. It's quick and easy and delicious.

Ingredients
- 1 lb Italian Ground Sausage
- 1 bag Penne Pasta
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 Medium Yellow Onion Minced
- 2 Cloves Garlic Minced
- 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 2 Cups Heavy Cream (35% works best)
- 3/4 Cup Baby Spinich uncooked
- 1 Cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese
- 1/4 Cup Dry White Wine (Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio works well)
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package directions.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the Italian sausage along with the onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, and salt until the sausage is no longer pink.
- Drain excess fat from the skillet if necessary and return the meat mixture to the pan. (It's ok to leave a little grease in the pan for extra flavor)
- Turn heat to medium add the wine and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Turn the heat to low and add the cream to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and add in the spinach.
- Cook, stirring for about 3 minutes until the spinach is wilted.
- Stir in the parmesan cheese until melted. Stir the pasta into the sauce.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
This is a quick and easy dish that is one of my family favorites. Serve with the same wine you cooked the sausage in.
When serving, sprinkle a dash of Parmesan cheese on top for added flavor.
